Hey there! If you’ve been following me for a minute, you know that in August, I took a step back from my business to really reflect on what’s working and what’s not. I had too many projects up in the air and a bustling social media strategy that had me spinning my wheels without any clear indication of whether it was boosting my business. I even wrote about my relationship with Instagram here.
Where I gained clarity and growth in business:
Stepping away from something doesn’t mean giving up; it can be an act of clarity. By pausing and analyzing, I discovered what truly needed my focus. One key insight I gained was the importance of a streamlined social media strategy. Shifting to the mindset of “consistency and quality over quantity” turned out to be a game-changer. By focusing on delivering content that truly resonates, I ensured that every post added real value, reducing unnecessary noise and fostering genuine connections with my audience. This approach works because it allows for deeper engagement and less burnout – both for me and my followers.
Another significant change was moving the podcast, “Diana Prince Lives Next Door,” under The Gal Project brand instead of Angela Atelier. This strategic move aligns the podcast with its core mission to amplify women’s voices, giving it greater visibility and connection with a more engaged community. By housing both under The Gal Project, we create a cohesive platform where resources, support, and inspiration come together seamlessly.
Along with that, I decided to scale down on the production of full-blown video episodes. By focusing on audio, I could maintain a reasonable schedule of 12 episodes a year, which gives me more bandwidth to focus on growing other parts of my business. Plus, I finally got around to recording a trailer for the show, and guess what? It hit me that I hadn’t been plugging my own marketing there. Yikes – how did I miss that for two whole years?
Then there’s the “Startup Stories” project. Revamping and re-releasing this collaborative endeavor is about photographing 100 female entrepreneurs. This project holds significant passion for me, and I wanted to give it another shot to shine. It’s not just about pretty pictures; it’s about capturing and celebrating the resilience and drive of these incredible women.
A major takeaway from all this has been the value of simplicity. Keeping things simple has now become my mantra. Anyone who knows me would tell you I have an affinity for grand plans, but simplicity emerged as the key to clearer thinking and action. I’ve posted reminders everywhere to keep me grounded and focused.
In this journey, stepping back allowed me to step forward with purpose. Sometimes, clarity isn’t found in the hustle—it’s in the quiet moments of reflection. Thank you for your continued support in this journey, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
